Título: Exposições imersivas nas cidades e o futuro dos museus
Autor(es): Celestino, Tayara Barreto de Souza
Abstract: This article starts from the analysis of the changes that occurred in the field of museology
with the advent of immersive exhibitions, considering the communication techniques
applied to the public on themes involving art and cultural heritage. The investigative field
selected for this analysis was the exhibition of the Banese Institute “Museu da Gente
Sergipana” called “Cores da gente: imersão e emoção”, which took place in the period
between December 11 and 22, 2021, in which I participated as a collaborator in research
on artists from Sergipe, contributing to the design of the exhibition process. If, according
to Bourdieu (2016), the “love for art” stems from the public’s connections with life
experiences and art exhibitions, the recent experiences of museum making, from a digital
immersive perspective, require an update of this analysis. involving the relationship of this specific public with the art exhibitions insofar as the virtual has come to occupy a
central place in the experience of this public, breaking with the idea of cyberculture
developed by Levy (2010) to give way to the immersive experience of an “other time”,
the time to “close your eyes”, but without closing them, to let yourself be carried away
by acceleration, consumption and presentation without synthesis and without conclusion
(HAN, 2021).
