Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the levels of meaning in life (MIL), psychological well-being (PWB) and quality of life (QOL) in a large sample of school teachers, and to observe to what extent the MIL could act as a moderator variable in the relation between PWB and general QOL. The study included 517 teachers from 57 public and private schools in the city of Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, 174 men and 343 women (averaging 36.5 years old, SD = 10.34). The results showed that a significant portion of professionals had negative indexes of MIL, PWB and QOL. Inferential analyses showed MIL as a predictor variable of both PWB and QOL. Moderation analysis demonstrated that the PWB and QOL showed distinct correlations for individuals with high and low levels of MIL.

Abstract: When it comes to mathematical language, written in Portuguese, it is common to use symbols and formulas to represent mathematical concepts and operations. However, to produce a translation of this field of studies, with its formulas and symbols, into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), it is important to remember two crucial points: sign language has its own structure, and there is not always an iconic math terms/signed math terms correspondence. Based on these premises, this work aims to demonstrate the relationship between the term in Libras and the concept, symbols and/or formulas expressed in the mathematical term, since our focus is the specialty language of mathematics and its equivalent in Libras. To do this, we will approach the term from the perspective of Temmerman (2000), that is, based on the Sociocognitive Theory of Terminology (TST), which proposes a terminological approach based on the “unit of knowledge”. For Krieger and Finatto (2018), terms translated into Libras will be treated according to their structure, which can be: simple, compound and/or even specialized phraseology. Our object of study are the terms in Libras, related to the conceptual field of Mathematics, from the content
flagged and written in Portuguese of the Enem test notebook in written and flagged modalities. This work is derived from larger doctoral research in Literature, developed from Terminology in confluence with Cognitive Linguistics, which postulates that the term is placed within a specialized area, but can, at the same time, belong to the general language , with polysemic meanings (LAKOFF, 1980), (LAKOFF; NUÑES, 2000). The present study is based on a corpus to prove, or not, the hypothesis and the collected data, present in the documents analyzed, allow a certain plasticity in the analysis, as they can be changed as the corpus is compiled. As a result of ongoing research, the results are not conclusive, they are part of the description and analysis of mathematical terms for translation into Libras that seeks to understand, not only the mathematical concepts themselves, but also to have knowledge of the iconic structure of sign languages , in order to create an accurate and, naturally understandable translation for sign language users, which takes into account the bilingual aspect and the visuospatial way of acquiring knowledge characteristic of deaf people.

Abstract: This work aims to show the results of a lexicographic research carried out from a project developed within the Institutional Program of Scientific Initiation Scholarships of the Federal University of Sergipe. The research consisted in the identification and collection of regional signs of Libras from native deaf informants in the State of Sergipe, recording these signals in videographic and visographic forms by the SignWriting sign language writing system. The need for such registration was based on the importance of documentary geographical representation of these signs of Libras, created and used by the speakers of this language in Sergipe, which are not yet worded, thus partially filling this gap in their documentation. We use as theoretical basis, mainly, the studies on lexicography as Martins (2012), Gonçalves (2012), Faulstich (1980), Biderman (1984). The results of this research culminated in the production of the bilingual Dictionary Portuguese Language / Libras entitled "Sergipe Dictionary of Libras", containing a corpus of two hundred signs, divided into eight semantic categories.

Abstract: After the opening of the graduation in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) at Brazilian Federal Institutions, access for the deaf is granted by the quotas system. Our objective is to identify the influence of languages in contact in deaf candidates’ compositions written in Portuguese(PL) as L2 to enter higher education. We worked with the texts submitted to the special entrance exam of the Federal University of Sergipe. We based our analysis on Systemic-Functional Grammar. Consequently, we support the influence of languages on contacts, but mainly the idea that linguistic minorities need to achieve the social equity we have excessively theorized.
