Abstract: One of the main questions in biological invasions studies is the reason why numerous species
are introduced, but only some become invasive. This shift in status has been justified by the
phylogenetic relationship and functional similarity between exotic and native species.
However, these patterns have not been explored in semi-arid environments like the Caatinga.
Thus, the aim of this work is to test how phylogenetic and functional similarity between exotic
and native plants in the Caatinga affect invasion status and distribution of invasive species. To
achieve this, we constructed a list of exotic plants and obtained their respective invasion statuses
in the Caatinga. We gathered occurrence data for these species and native plants. Additionally,
a functional database was constructed for these species, including Leaf Area (LA), Height (H),
and Seed Mass (SM) attributes. Using the occurrences, we created diversity fields for exotic
species, representing the composition of native species that co-occur with each exotic species
and calculated phylogenetic metrics for the focal species' distance to its field. Binomial GLMs
were employed to assess whether changes in status from exotic to naturalized and from
naturalized to invasive are influenced by phylogenetic relationships and functional attributes.
For invasive species, we tested if observed phylogenetic distance values differ from those
expected by chance. Lastly, we analyzed if there are functional similarities between the statuses
of exotic species and native plants. We found that plants phylogenetically closer to Caatinga
natives are more likely to become naturalized and invasive. Smaller plants also have a higher
probability of becoming naturalized. Among invasive species with a phylogenetic relationship
different from what is expected by chance, there is a prevalence of species phylogenetically
closer to natives in their field. In comparing statuses, naturalized and invasive plants were found
to be shorter and have smaller leaves and seeds than native plants in the Caatinga. The results
indicate that Caatinga's environmental filter appears to favor species more similar to natives.
The observed functional differences suggest that naturalized and invasive species are
competitive, adopting strategies similar to native plants of Caatinga, such as seed bank
formation and dense populations during a specific period of the year.

Abstract: The teaching of Descriptive Statistics in High School faces challenges related to data interpretation, tables, graphs, and the understanding of measures of central tendency and dispersion, difficulties frequently observed in school practice. Considering the importance attributed by the Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum to the reading, interpretation, and critical analysis of statistical information, this study aimed to propose, apply, describe, analyze, and reflect on a sequence of activities for Descriptive Statistics mediated by the Python programming language, aiming to integrate calculations, graphical representations, and data interpretation. This study is an experience report with a qualitative approach, developed in High School Mathematics classes at Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral Castro Alves, located in Adustina, Bahia, Brazil. The methodological proposal consisted of integrating conventional instruction of statistical content with computational practices in Python, in which students simulated data, organized information into tables, constructed graphs, and calculated statistical measures, relating these results to the analyzed data sets. The data were analyzed through triangulation involving teacher observations, students' productions, and a feedback questionnaire, aiming to understand the perceptions and reflections emerging from the developed experience. As an educational product, a sequence of activities mediated by Python was developed, aiming at the development of statistical interpretation. The results indicate that the proposed approach has the potential to foster the understanding of Descriptive Statistics concepts and expand the possibilities for data interpretation, in line with the demands of Mathematics Education. It is not intended to claim that the use of Python, by itself, guarantees better learning outcomes, but rather that its use as a mediating tool showed potential to foster statistical interpretation processes, expand possibilities for data analysis, and stimulate students' engagement in the proposed activities.

Abstract: The theme of cangaço found fertile ground in cinematic productions. The saga of Lampião and
his mens entered the realm of the seventh art, resulting in roughly fifty films identified
throughout the 20th century. However, only a few works have sought to portray the role of
women cangaceiras. For this reason, this study examines how the audiovisual productions A
Mulher no Cangaço (1976, by Hermano Penna), A Musa do Cangaço (1982, by José Umberto
Dias), and Entre Irmãs (2017, by Breno Silveira) approached the protagonism of these female
bandits. Two documentaries and one feature film were selected, respectively. The study
investigates how these productions mobilized the memories and testimonies of women who
took part in the cangaço. In dialogue with the history of the backlands (sertões), gender studies,
and social discourse analysis, cinema emerges as a privileged space for the surfacing of
marginalized memories, enabling these figures to be repositioned as protagonists of their own
narratives. By revisiting the history of cangaço from a female perspective, elements once
considered secondary could be inscribed as fundamental parts of this experience. This approach
was made possible through the theoretical framework employed, which shed light on the
subject. Accordingly, the analysis intersects gender as a category of analysis (Scott, 1995), the
history of women (Perrot, 2007), subterranean memories (Pollak, 1989), and the testimonial
turn in historical knowledge (Seligmann-Silva, 2022). Based on these reflections, it also became
essential to consider the sertão and the discourses surrounding Brazil’s Northeast region
(Albuquerque Jr., 1999, 2008, 2013; Araújo Sá, 2011, 2020, 2023). Methodologically, the study
primarily focused on examining testimonies, dialogues, and scenes through the principles and
procedures of social discourse analysis (Orlandi, 2002, 2007), alongside contributions from
historiography on banditry. In the audiovisual productions, the main objective was to identify
the agency and protagonism of women cangaceiras. The investigation further demonstrates how
the testimonies of surviving participants, recorded in the documentaries, resonated in
contemporary fiction, highlighting tensions between oppression and freedom, violence and
resistance.
