Abstract: This paper examines the relationship
between the professional practice of law and
militant investments in human rights’ defense. On
one hand it examines the collective and situational
logics that configure the militant offer in the
professional space of law and, on the other hand,
the individual careers. It focuses both on the
objective dimension, or namely, the set of social,
political and professional resources that lawyers
have at their disposal, and on their subjective logics
that encompass the ideological redefinition of the
profession. The methodology adopted consisted
of the use of surveys and biographic interviews
carried out with lawyers active in human rights in
Aracaju. This work shows that the experience with
human rights commitment plays a decisive role in
l’identification professionnelle.

Abstract: In this article, we suggest to reflect critically on the trivial usage of the concept of identity in the social sciences. We propose to take it as an ongoing social
phenomenon primarily affected by power relations. The article presents a contextualization of the theme in recent decades and draws on ideas of classic authors. It also points out to one of the possible paths for research on identity processes. Then, four elements are emphasized: the actors, the disputes, the standards and the contexts which we believe are the constituents of this social phenomenon, suggesting how to proceed with their analysis.

Abstract: This article analyses <Brazilian women> in the social imaginary in Portugal
through the Foucaultian analytical triad “knowledge-power-subjectivation”,
combined with feminist and de-colonial perspectives. The article begins with a
retrospective genealogy of media and touristic discourses, based on
interviews and documents, in order to unveil the knowledge-power
discursive order in the image of <Brazilian women>. The second part analyzes
subjectivations of Brazilian immigrant women in Portugal, drawing on
interviews and participant observation, to unveil situations of prejudice and
discrimination and shed light on how the women confront the discursive order
by resisting and re-existing as subjects. According to the conclusions, Brazilian
women are seen as a “colonial body” to the extent that they are defined,
essentialized, and stigmatized through characteristics attributed to them ever
since the historical colonial period and related to hypersexuality. Three modes
of subjectivation are identified by which these women resist stigma and
re-exist: passive, affirmative, and combative resistance.; Dans cet article, on examine l’imaginaire social <femme brésilienne> au
On
