Abstract: The increase in the older population in Brazil has brought consequences, among them, the increased risk of falls and their complications on the health of individuals. In the perspective of healthy aging, there is a search for physical activities such as Pilates, which has shown benefits such as reducing the risk of falls and improving quality of life. Objective: To evaluate the influence of Pilates practice in reducing the risk of falls in older adults. Method: A thorough search was carried out in the PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar databases for research involving Pilates activity and the risk of falls. The descriptors adopted were: “Quedas”, “Idoso”, “Método Pilates” (in Portuguese) and “Fall”, “older adult”, “Pilates Method” (in English). The research question was: “Does the risk of falls reduce in elderly people who practice Pilates?”. Results: A total of 9,062 articles were found, and only 6 were included in the research. Among the findings, there was an improvement in sensory response, functionality and pain, as well as an improvement &#xD;
in postural control. All observed a reduction in the risk of falls. Conclusion: It can be inferred that the practice of Pilates appears to reduce the risk of falls in older adults when performed between 8 weeks and 6 months, considering mainly the improvement in postural control.</summary>

Abstract: The Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) aims to establish social conditions that provide quality of life for its users in a universal, comprehensive, and equitable manner. However, it faces difficulties, especially in secondary care, where there are long waiting lists for specialized services. Although instruments based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) exist to qualify referrals from Primary Health Care (PHC), the organization of secondary care still lacks systematization, failing to solve the problem of waiting lists. In the Aquatic Physiotherapy clinic of a Brazilian Federal University, for example, the waiting time for care exceeds one year, a situation that contradicts the principles of the SUS. As an alternative, this study proposes the automation of triage using socioeconomic criteria and the ICF, employing an algorithm structured in four phases: Scope Review, Development of a Questionnaire for Expert Consultation, Creation of decision trees based on weights, and software development. The present study corresponds to the second stage of this process: the development of a questionnaire for consultation with Aquatic Physiotherapy professionals. The instrument was developed based on a scoping review conducted in 2025, in which the main dysfunctions and outcomes treated in water were analyzed and classified according to the ICF domains. Sociodemographic criteria were also included according to the Brazilian Economic Classification Criteria (CCEB). The final questionnaire consists of 10 items, whose sub-items are evaluated from 0 to 10 regarding their relevance for screening in public Aquatic Physiotherapy services.</summary>

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Female urinary incontinence (UI) is a prevalent condition that negatively impacts women’s quality of life, especially in contexts of socioeconomic vulnerability. Primary Health Care (PHC) has great potential for the management of this dysfunction, with Physiotherapy recognized as the first-line treatment. However, UI remains underreported, frequently normalized, and occurs in a context of persistent barriers to accessing treatment services. OBJECTIVES: To investigate the prevalence of urinary incontinence symptoms, their impact on quality of life, and access to physiotherapeutic treatment among women living in the catchment area of a Primary Health Care Unit in the municipality of Lagarto, Sergipe, Brazil. METHOD: This is a cross-sectional observational study with a quantitative and descriptive approach, conducted with 31 women assisted by a Family Health Clinic, after excluding those with cognitive impairment using the Mini-Cog. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire, the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire – Short Form (ICIQ-SF), and the King’s Health Questionnaire (KHQ), followed by descriptive statistical analysis using absolute and relative frequencies for categorical variables and means for numerical variables. RESULTS: A prevalence of UI of 21.4% was identified among the evaluated women. There was a predominance of low educational level (83.9% with incomplete elementary education) and low income (54.8% earning less than 1.5 minimum wages). A high frequency of associated risk factors was observed, such as smoking (16.1%), multiple vaginal deliveries (mean of 3.8), and the presence of chronic diseases (96.8%), with systemic arterial hypertension standing out (77.4%). Only 38.7% of the participants reported the condition to health professionals; among these, only 15.4% received guidance on pelvic floor exercises and only 3.2% underwent physiotherapeutic treatment, while 12.9% resorted to surgical intervention. The mean ICIQ-SF score was 10.9. Symptoms such as urinary leakage when coughing (74.1%) or before reaching the bathroom (80.6%) were frequently minimized, with 41.9% of women classifying the impact on daily life as “a little.” CONCLUSION: Urinary incontinence was shown to be frequent, underreported, and often normalized among the evaluated women, being associated with socioeconomic and clinical factors that hinder access to appropriate treatment within PHC. The need to intensify health education actions and multiprofessional training is evident, aiming at early detection, timely referral to Physiotherapy, and expansion of access to this treatment, which may reduce avoidable surgical interventions and promote significant improvement in women’s quality of life.</summary>
