Abstract: Internationalization is an agenda that was incorporated relatively late into the planning of federal universities in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. In addition, these regions are less favored in terms of investment compared to those located in the South–Southeast axis, and this late incorporation results in processes that are still incipient and disconnected from strategies aimed at integrating these regions into the global knowledge community. Therefore, studying the positioning of internationalization as a strategic priority for universities in these regions remains urgent. How they conceptualize it and how much they invest are questions that provide an interesting starting point. The objective of this study is, based on a bibliographic discussion of concepts and issues related to the internationalization of higher education, to identify the perspectives and investments of some universities in order to generate initial indicators for future researchers who wish to formulate more specific questions.</summary>

Abstract: This work analyzes the reshaping that has occurred in Global Value Chains as a result of the impacts generated by the major global crises of the 21st century: the 2008 Financial Crisis and the 2012 Eurozone Crisis, the first term of US President Donald Trump (2017-2021), the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russia/Ukraine War. The aim is to investigate the impacts these crises had on international trade that motivated the reconfiguration of these productive arrangements. The methodology combines theoretical review with empirical analysis of varied data on imports and exports and more specific information on value chains around the world. The role of these events in the formal and structural modifications that proved necessary for maintaining the functions of Global Value Chains as engines of world trade will be discussed, especially the management of risks that often arise unexpectedly with each new crisis event. The results indicate that learning, the application of resilience techniques, risk management in crisis scenarios, and offshoring movements were the main effects of the events described, concluding that the Financial Crisis highlighted the significant exposure of supply chains to extreme events. Changes in global value chains occurred a few years later, beginning and being tested in the wake of the trade war and attacks on the foundations of international trade carried out by then-US President Donald Trump, and consolidating in the extreme phenomenon of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russo-Ukraine War.</summary>

Abstract: This study analyzes the discursive patterns mobilized by Israelite Confederation of Brazil (CONIB), the Brazil-Israel Institute (IBI), and StandWithUs Brazil in Instagram publications following the events of October 7, 2023. It examines how these institutions frame the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and mobilize antisemitism as a category structuring public debate. The research is grounded in Critical Discourse Analysis, based on van Dijk (2008), and incorporates Mirzoeff’s (2011) notion of visuality. The results indicate a structural convergence between the institutions, marked by the centrality of the security framework, the legitimization of Israeli self-defense, and the expansion of antisemitism as an interpretative category. It is concluded that, although no formal coordination is identified between the actors analyzed, there is a convergent discursive dynamic with the potential to influence public opinion, approaching digital advocacy practices and configuring, on a symbolic level, a form of informal lobbying aimed at consolidating frameworks favorable to Israel in the Brazilian public sphere.</summary>

Abstract: Regarding International Relations Theory, we find different theoretical and methodological approaches, which are based on the epistemic paths that represent the theorizing process of this area of Social Sciences. From a major perspective, the constitution of internationalist knowledge is sometimes restricted to certain paradigms linked to the traditions of the area, as is the case with the "dilemma of the international"; the one that imprisons IR within the concepts and approaches that trace back to its origins. In this sense, the authors of Critical Theory teach us that delimitations in the theoretical-methodological framework tend to constitute a restrictive knowledge, distant from any emancipatory process. Among challenges and problems, the aesthetic turn in International Relations represented an attempt to overcome the paradigms of the area, based on the proposition of a new approach. Nevertheless, this movement is not exempt from criticism. As thinkers of Critical Theory show us, whether those of the so-called Frankfurt School or those representing the field of Critical Pedagogy, a theory is only truly emancipatory if the intellectual, through theorization and praxis, proposes to encompass an ideological and political background in order to reach the roots of the problems and issues highlighted by art. With this objective, a genuinely critical aesthetic approach can be proposed to address one of the most important themes in International Relations: the Palestinian question. This work shows that this can be done through an appreciation of its artistic and literary field, more precisely, through the visual arts of Palestine.</summary>
