Narrativas digitais da maternidade no Instagram: tensões, ambivalências e performatividade do corpo materno

Título: Narrativas digitais da maternidade no Instagram: tensões, ambivalências e performatividade do corpo materno
Autor(es): Santos, Isadora Sukita Rezende
Abstract: This dissertation analyzes digital narratives of motherhood produced by Brazilian influencers
on Instagram, focusing on representations of the pregnant and postpartum body within a
context shaped by performativity, consumer logic, and the influence economy. The research is
based on the observation that, although social media has expanded the visibility of maternal
experiences, such exposure is permeated by tensions between authenticity and curation, care
and commodification, and between visibility and the silencing of physical and emotional
discomforts. The study examines the most highly engaged posts published between 2023 and
2025 on the profiles of five Brazilian influencers, selected according to criteria of thematic
relevance, reach, engagement, and narrative diversity. The qualitative analysis is grounded in
content analysis and engages with theoretical contributions from gender studies,
communication, body studies, health, and performativity, particularly regarding
self-presentation and expressive coherence on digital platforms. The findings show that the
maternal narratives analyzed operate through a performance of well-being that tends to
aestheticize motherhood, naturalize bodily interventions, and minimize or silence pain,
discomfort, and vulnerabilities associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period. While
the discourse of “real motherhood” is present, it is often captured by engagement and
monetization strategies, limiting its critical potential and reinforcing normative bodily and
behavioral standards. Furthermore, the promotion of health- and self-care-related products
and services frequently appears disconnected from scientific evidence, increasing the risk of
misinformation in maternal health. It is concluded that digital narratives of motherhood on
Instagram constitute an ambiguous space, combining possibilities for identification and care
with mechanisms of symbolic control, bodily discipline, and the commodification of maternal
experience. This research contributes to the field of Communication by deepening the
understanding of the relationships between motherhood, the body, health, and the influence
economy, offering critical insights for debates on ethics, visibility, and meaning-making in
digital platforms.

Abstract: This work analyzes the trajectory of two female cordelists from Sergipe, Izabel Nascimento
and This study analyzes the trajectories of two cordelistas from Sergipe, Izabel Nascimento
and Daniela Bento, highlighting, from their own perspectives, the expressions of
sociopolitical resistance and the gender inequalities that shape their experiences within the
multifaceted field of cordel literature. The research aims to understand the dimensions that
emerge from the lived experiences of these Black women as they occupy spaces historically
dominated by men, examining how their narratives challenge hegemonic structures and reflect
processes of confrontation and transformation. Methodologically, the study is grounded in life
history and trajectory approaches proposed by Howard S. Becker (1994) and Maria Luiza
Nogueira (2017), which emphasize processes of subjectivation and resignification through
individual experiences that foster collective agency. The theoretical framework draws on
Patricia Hill Collins' (2019) Standpoint Theory, in dialogue with Black and interseccional
feminist thought from authors such as Lélia Gonzalez (1984), Conceição Evaristo (2007),
Ochy Curiel (2020), Maria Lugones (2019), Gloria Anzaldúa (1987), Audre Lorde (1980),
bell hooks (2019), and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (2019). To explore the intersections of
gender and communication in cordel, we also engage with the works of Francisca Pereira dos
Santos (2020), Ria Lemaire (2017, 2018, 2020), Néstor García Canclini (2019), Maria
Gislene Fonseca (2019), and Luiz Antônio Marcuschi (2010), whose contributions emphasize
the social, political, and communicational roles of women in cultural production. As an
empirical strategy, in-depth interviews were conducted using a semi-structured guide inspired
by Kathy Charmaz (2009), designed to be "broad enough to cover a wide range of
experiences, and narrow enough to elicit and elaborate on the participant’s specific
experience." The findings reveal the transformative power of female authorship in the Sergipe
cordel scene, addressing intersections of race, gender, and sexuality. Moreover, they illustrate
how these women actively redefine the practice of cordel, particularly through their
engagement with social media and their use of cordel as a pedagogical, political, and
identity-based tool. Their narratives transcend stigmas of cordel as a “sub-literature” and
resist limitations historically imposed on women’s writing. Ultimately, their perspectives
illuminate the intersections between media, cordel, and power, offering a critical lens on the
collective agency of women in protagonistic roles who come together to challenge patriarchal
and racist structures.

Abstract: Active transparency is based on the spontaneous disclosure of information by public administration, with the efficient dissemination of data on official websites, transparency portals, or other communication channels whose access is guaranteed in a simplified and direct manner to the individual. In Brazil, part of the regulation of this right was achieved through specific legislation, such as the Fiscal Responsibility Law (Complementary Law No. 101/2000), the Access to Information Law (Law No. 12.527/2011), and the Transparency Law (Complementary Law No. 131/2009), which, by encompassing mechanisms for access to public information, contribute to the exercise of democracy. This dissertation investigates the performance of the websites of federal universities in the nine states of the Brazilian Northeast in terms of active transparency. To this end, the chosen path was an exploratory qualitative research, which verified elements such as digital effectiveness, visibility of the Transparency Portal, availability of administrative information, logical interface, graphical interface, existence of an alternative for mobile platforms, compliance with accessibility standards for people with disabilities, alternatives for other languages, flexibility and efficiency of the portal, as well as instruments for monitoring updates and specific indicators of educational management. None of the nine universities verified managed to obtain the maximum score attributed, considering the methodology used, which demonstrates the need to expand the commitment to transparency in quality public education.

Título: Narrativas em alta velocidade: transmídia nas transmissões da Fórmula 1 em 2021
Autor(es): Andrade, Eduardo Costa
Abstract: The present work aims to analyze transmedia narratives and how they are used by
Formula 1, enhancing consumer experiences by the public. As an empirical object, the
broadcasts and content published on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, the official website
and streaming of the category (F1 TV), of four of the 23 races of the 2021 season, are
studied. Thus, the work intends to understand how the construction of narratives ends up
being constituted by these contents, with the attempt to build a transmedia work, and in
this way generating more immersion and creating a new experience for the consumer. For
the methodology, the Case Study were be used based on the studies of Yin (2001), and
the Content Analysis based on the concepts of Bardin (1977). Analyzes were made of all
the issues mentioned, understanding how transmedia is addressed in this product. It was
observed at the end that the category complies with most of the transmedia principles
related to journalism, and expands its narrative on different fronts, promoting a more
complete experience for the public.
