A representação da ansiedade como recurso retórico na animação Divertida Mente 2

Título: A representação da ansiedade como recurso retórico na animação Divertida Mente 2
Autor(es): Farias, Marine Giohana dos Santos
Abstract: This paper analyzes the rhetorical construction of the character Anxiety in the Animation Inside Out 2, based on Aristotelian rhetoric, focusing on the means of persuasion pathos and the mobilization of passions. Initially, classical, modern, and visual rhetoric are discussed, understood as a persuasive practice that prioritizes verbal discourse and extends to audiovisual languages. Next, the means of persuasion ethos, logos, and pathos are presented, highlighting the central role of emotions in the construction of discourse. Based on Aristotle, Meyer, Amossy, and Figueiredo, passions are understood as psychophysical and cognitive states that influence judgments and actions. The methodology adopted is qualitative and interpretative, based on bibliographic research and corpus analysis. The analysis demonstrates that the character Anxiety initially mobilizes pathos through fear and shame, influencing Riley's identity and behavior, and later through compassion, allowing the character's emotional reconfiguration. It is concluded that the narrative highlights the relevance of pathos as a central element of persuasion and meaning-making in contemporary audiovisual narratives.

Título: Das páginas às telas : um estudo a transposição de Lisbela e o prisioneiro para a linguagem do cinema
Autor(es): Santos, Ana Caroline de Oliveira
Abstract: This research aimed to establish a comparative study between the theatrical work Lisbela e o Prisioneiro (1964), by the Pernambuco writer Osman Lins (1924-1978), and the adaptation of the same name, directed by Guel Arraes (1953-), in 2003. The approach to this study was qualitative and comparative analysis, in which the changes, similarities, and effects of meaning between the two narratives were observed. To this end, this research was based on Hutcheon (2011), Stam (2006), McKee (2006), Hattnher (2013), Xavier (2003), Bazin (1991), among others. With them, it became possible to establish discussions about the significant parallels that compose the relationship between literature and cinema. These theories contributed to the analysis of the research corpus, since they establish a basis for understanding how cinematic language can expand and recreate aspects of the literary plane. In this way, through aesthetic and stylistic resources, the adaptation enhances the regionalista and popular content of Osman Lins's play (1924); in addition, it expands the dramatic impact, the spaces, and materializes the dialogues and customs typical of the Brazilian Northeast.

Título: Narrativas em disputa no caso Maria da Penha : estudo comparado entre a autobiografia sobrevivi...posso contar e o podcast pela fechadura
Autor(es): Marôto, Wiara Samara Santos
Abstract: This study addresses divergent narratives constructed around the true case of domestic violence suffered by Maria da Penha, based on two distinct discursive productions. The objective is to analyze the argumentative and rhetorical strategies present in conflicting versions of the violence suffered by Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes, using as a corpus the autobiographical book Sobrevivi... posso contar (Penha, 2010) and the podcast episode Pela Fechadura – caso Maria da Penha (Ventura, 2023), available on the YouTube channel Não Minta Pra Mim. Specifically, this research seeks to identify and compare valid and invalid arguments mobilized in the discourses; analyze the construction of ethos as a means of persuasion in the examined works; and reflect on the influence of gender stereotypes in the podcast's discourse. Given this, we are guided by the following problem-questions: what are the argumentative and rhetorical strategies used by Maria da Penha and her ex-husband in the analyzed works? How are these strategies used to persuade the audience and legitimize different versions of the violence case in question? How does each version build the speaker's credibility, i.e., their ethos? Does the podcast Pela Fechadura – Caso Maria da Penha reinforce negative gender stereotypes? Methodologically, the research is qualitative-interpretative in nature and bibliographic in character. Theoretical support was drawn from studies by Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca (2014), Aristotle (2011), Mateus (2018), Amossy (2016a, 2016b), Reboul (2004), among others. With their contribution and based on our analysis, it was possible to observe that the argumentative strategies mobilized in the two objects of study were constructed in distinct ways and produced opposite discursive effects. While the autobiography was grounded in valid arguments that support the account of all violence suffered by the victim in a coherent and legitimate manner, the podcast, in contrast, revealed an attempt to disqualify Penha's narrative through arguments that proved to be inconsistent and fallacious.

Abstract: In 1936, Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) published, commissioned by the periodical Orient und Okzident, the essay “O narrador: considerações sobre a obra de Nikolai Leskov”, asserting that the art of storytelling was on the verge of extinction. With the advancement of mass reproduction techniques in art and the rise of information as a form of communication in modernity, what is fundamental to narration in the traditional sense, according to Benjaminian theory, begins to decline: the experience. Already in the post-war period (1939-1945), marked by the end of the orthodox attitudes also in fact of the technical advancement, the literature that defines the moment is divided into two contradictory impulses: realistic continuity and aesthetic renewal promoted by Guimarães Rosa (1908-1967). Considering the new aesthetic features introduced by the writer from Minas Gerais, this work aims to analyze the short stories in the book Primeiras estórias (1962), by the same writer, in order to identify, in the metaphysical backlands world that he composes, the traditional Benjaminian narrator. As a theoretical framework, texts by Candido (1977; 1983; 2002; 2012), Arrigucci Jr. (1994), Coelho (2013), Rónai (2001), Rosa (1994), Gagnebin (1987), and others were used to understand not only Rosa's work but also Benjamin's theory.
