Título: Fome como expressão da questão social : manifestações da (in)segurança alimentar e nutricional no Brasil durante a pandemia de COVID-19
Autor(es): Lima, Ana Leticia Santos
Abstract: This study aims to understand hunger as an expression of the social question, based on manifestations of food and nutritional (in)security in Brazil during the Covid19 pandemic, between 2020 and 2022. Of a qualitative nature, the research is grounded in the historical-dialectical materialism method and is carried out through bibliographic and documentary research. It is evident that hunger constitutes a historical problem, intensified by the capitalist and neoliberal model, especially in the context of agroexportation. It was found that social programs, such as Bolsa Família and Emergency Aid, proved insufficient to reduce food and nutritional insecurity during the health crisis. This study also highlights that overcoming hunger requires the effective role of the State, the consolidation of Food and Nutritional Security instruments, and the implementation of structural policies that guarantee the human right to adequate food.

Abstract: This study analyzes the reality of women in the Brazilian labor market during the Covid-19 pandemic. To this end, it presents an analysis of the Brazilian labor market articulating the dimensions of class, race, and gender; identifies the aspects that mark women's participation in the labor market in the face of multiple work shifts; and investigates the effects of the pandemic on women's working conditions in Brazil. Methodologically, the research employs a qualitative and quantitative approach, of a bibliographic and documentary nature, based on official data and academic productions on the subject. The need for this research stems from the deepening of existing structural inequalities in the labor market, intensified by the pandemic context, especially in a scenario marked by the precariousness of labor relations and the erosion of workers' rights. The results indicate that the pandemic deepened existing gender and racial inequalities in the Brazilian labor market.

Abstract: The study focuses on the disasters of Mariana and Brumadinho, in the state of Minas Gerais, caused by the collapse of iron ore tailings dams, and on the case of the neighborhoods in Maceió, Alagoas, affected by rock salt extraction carried out by the petrochemical company Braskem. The main objective is to analyze these socio-environmental crimes and understand how the partial invisibilization of their consequences contributes to the naturalization of rights violations, as well as to identify institutional and grassroots mechanisms of reparation and resistance. Methodologically, this is a qualitative and exploratory study grounded in the historical-dialectical materialist method, adopting the critical analysis of social, economic, and political realities from the perspective of socio-historical totality as its central analytical framework. The research is based on a bibliographic review and documentary analysis of journalistic media, information available on the websites of social movements related to the topic—particularly the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB)—and independent audiovisual productions. The findings reveal the class character of the Brazilian State, demonstrating that the insufficiency of inspection and reparation mechanisms stems from the structural contradictions of the State under neoliberal hegemony, favoring the interests of capital over the effective protection of socio-environmental rights. Furthermore, the study found that the structural weakening of the National Mining Agency (ANM), the erosion of social participation, and corporate unaccountability contribute to the persistence of rights violations affecting impacted populations.

Exclusão de pessoas trans* e travestis : uma análise dos casos do ensino médio brasileiro

Título: Exclusão de pessoas trans* e travestis : uma análise dos casos do ensino médio brasileiro

Abstract: This study analyzes the processes of dropout and exclusion of trans* and travesti individuals in Brazilian high schools, based on the assumption that the school, as a device of power, acts as a central agent in the perpetuation of transphobia, which violates the fundamental right to education. The general objective is to investigate the mechanisms of violence and marginalization that lead to school abandonment among this population. To this end, a qualitative research approach with an analytical-critical bias is adopted, grounded in Queer Theory and authors such as Michel Foucault, Judith Butler, and Kimberlé Crenshaw. The methodology consists of the analysis of a digital clipping of news stories published in the Brazilian media, with a time frame between 2022 and 2025, a period that covers the return to in-person classes after the COVID-19 pandemic and the developments of a national political context adverse to gender issues. The results demonstrate that the violence is systematic and multifaceted, beginning with the denial of identity through disrespect for the social name by peers, teachers, and administrators. This primary aggression escalates to exclusion from spaces such as bathrooms and sports activities, verbal harassment, public humiliation, and, in extreme cases, physical violence. The analysis indicates that institutional transphobia is a determining factor, with the negligence and connivance of the school structure in protecting students. Furthermore, transmisogyny is evidenced as a force that intensifies violence against trans and travesti female students. Such practices are the direct cause of dropout rates which, according to data from ANTRA, lead more than 70% of this population to not complete high school. It is concluded, therefore, that dropout is not an individual act of giving up, but rather a project of systematic expulsion orchestrated by a cis-heteronormative structure, revealing the ineffectiveness of existing protection policies and the urgency of a pedagogical, affective, and political transformation in educational spaces.
