Biblioterapia no ensino superior do Brasil: panorama dos cursos de biblioteconomia no Nordeste

Título: Biblioterapia no ensino superior do Brasil: panorama dos cursos de biblioteconomia no Nordeste
Autor(es): Pinheiro, Valdiceia de Jesus Cardoso; Aguiar, Niliane Cunha; Barroso, Cristina de Almeida Valença Cunha
Abstract: Introduction: Bibliotherapy is understood as an interdisciplinary practice that uses reading for therapeutic purposes and to promote well-being, with the librarian acting asa possible mediator in this process. In Brazil, the Northeast region has ten on-site Library Science programs, covering all states in the region. Objective: This study investigated how bibliotherapy is addressed in the curricula of on-site Library Science programsat universities in Northeast Brazil. Specifically, it sought to identify the programs that include bibliotherapy in their curricula; analyze subjects, content, and methodologies; verify the workload and theoretical and/or practical approach, as well as point out the challenges and opportunities for strengthening the teaching of bibliotherapy. Methodology: This isanexploratory and descriptive study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, which analyzed the websitesand documents of ten universities in the region. Results: The results indicate that only three programs have courseswith content related to bibliotherapy and therapeutic information. The study reveals an incipient presence of the theme in librarian training, which may be related to traditional curricula and the reduced number of specialized professors. Conclusion: It is concluded that regular updating of Library Science programcurricula is essential, with the inclusion of coursesthat explore integrative practices, such as bibliotherapy. Furthermore, the importance of promoting research and outreachactivities that strengthen the knowledge and practice of bibliotherapy in the academic and professional spheres is highlighted, preparing future librarians to act as agents of care and social transformation.

Autor(es): Correia, Érica Mariza; Pinheiro, Valdiceia de Jesus Cardoso; Carvalho, Telma de; Oliveira, Camila de Jesus; Santos Júnior, Maurício dos
Abstract: The article approaches the challenges faced by information diffusion within the scope of Scientific
Journalism, which highlights the role of the Journalist as responsible for information dissemination.
Therefore, its general objective is to evaluate the role of Scientific Journalism in the dissemination of
qualified information and as specific objectives: to present some characteristics of Scientific
Journalism’ social role in its field; to address the aspects that cover the difficulties in disseminating
information; and highlight journalism in information dissemination. The methodology used was
exploratory and descriptive research of qualitative nature and bibliographic character. It was
observed that Scientific Journalism assists the mediation of information, being more effective with
the help of the media; in addition, with access to information and expanding knowledge, it develops
greater skills and competences in a greater number of people. Therefore, it has an important role in the dissemination of knowledge, since the Journalist also interferes and mediates information in the
sharing of knowledge, exchanging of ideas and in the interaction with the public, acting as an active
professional in the search for continuous learning and facilitating access to knowledge for the benefit
of society.

Abstract: Therapeutic techniques are the subject of study in several areas of knowledge.
Thus, bibliotherapy is a research topic with broad ramifications. The research
problem centered on the question: What are the scientific investigations into
the impacts of applying literature through the therapeutic strategy of
bibliotherapy after the COVID-19 pandemic? The primary objective of the
study was to investigate, through studies published as theses and
dissertations in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BTDT), the
application of reading and information as a therapeutic strategy in the social
context transformed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The research methodology
employed a qualitative approach, utilizing bibliographic research and a
systematic literature review for specification. The research descriptor was
“bibliotherapy”, with inclusion criteria, studies published from 2020 to 2025,
to cover the context of diverse changes after the COVID-19 pandemic. The
exclusion criterion applied was conceptual studies of bibliotherapy, without
the practical intervention of the therapeutic technique. After applying the
criteria, 12 studies were selected for the systematic review. The results
indicated that bibliotherapy is a valuable instrument and therapeutic tool for
special groups, such as children and the elderly, with varied benefits that
warrant comprehensive investigation. These findings provide suggestions for
future research, in light of the verification that bibliotherapy contributes to an
individual's health.

Abstract: The main objective of this article is to analyze existing adaptations within the scope of accessibility within university libraries to meet the needs of students with visual impairments: blind and low vision. To achieve the objective, qualitative bibliographical research was carried out. As a result, the main services and products, supports and technologies offered for access to information in university libraries for students with visual impairments were identified, including an analysis of existing assistive technologies. The analyzes presented highlight the importance of the library in promoting the inclusion of students with visual impairments, respecting Ordinance No. 3.284, of 2003, of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MEC).
