Abstract: This dissertation, developed within the Professional Graduate Program in History Teaching,
was carried out with the support of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível
Superior – Brasil (CAPES) – Finance Code 00, presents as its theme an academic reflection
on the importance of studying religions of Afro-Brazilian origin and their relevance as a
framework for Afrocentric History Teaching. The research object selected was the daily
practices, memories, and experiences transmitted orally in the Afro-Indigenous religious
temples of Junqueiro-AL, analyzing how, epistemologically, the teaching of histories of
struggle/resistance and the crossing of the Atlantic, the social hierarchy, the rules of conduct,
and moral, ethical, and religious values occurs. As this proposal involves a consideration of
ancestry and African Oral Tradition, particularly the categories of the traditionalist and the
griot, I understood that this reflection maintains proximity to the research object, and its
relevance lies in the importance of connecting historically reconstructed knowledge and
practices in the diaspora and their correlations with history and memory. African oral tradition
is based on the idea of man, place, and universe; To situate it globally, it is necessary to study
it from its creation and transmission. To this end, I sought support in the methodology of Oral
Tradition, in academic analyses of oral history, and in the connection between interviewee and
interviewer and in recorded testimony. The legacy of the New History weakened the rigidity
of Positivism, thus focusing on the historical investigation of invisibilized groups or individual
experiences in the present time, in everyday life. Concomitantly, I used the methodology of
ethnography, based on interviews and fieldwork, configured in the mapping and scripting of
the temples. The dissertation resulted in the production of the Open Educational Resource
(OER), "Caminho dos Búzios" (Path of the Cowrie Shells), a technological tool containing
data, maps, information, teaching resources, and support for the entire school community. The
dissertation will be available on the ProfHistória website to support teaching practices in the
format of Dissemination of Historical Narrative. I hope that this dissertation contributes to the
teaching of History for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations, making visible the silences
historically produced.

Abstract: This dissertation investigates the impacts of the unfinished construction of the Salgado/Paulo
Afonso Railway Line (1950-1957) in the forest of Paripiranga (BA). The study is based in the
memories of local residents who witnessed the period and of workers’ family members who
settled in the region. The relevance of the research lies in recording the stories of the inhabitants
of the forests (rural area) of Paripiranga, who felt the impacts of a railway project interrupted
before its completion. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of these memories for the
teaching and learning of History. The central question of the research is: what are the impacts
caused by the unfinished construction of the Salgado/Paulo Afonso railway line for the
inhabitants of the Paripiranga forests (BA)? The dissertation also attempts to show how this
work can contribute to the teaching and learning of local history. The overall objective was to
identify the impacts caused by the unfinished construction of the Salgado/Paulo Afonso railway
line for the inhabitants of Paripiranga (BA) forests and how this work can contribute to the
teaching and learning of local history. To this end, the specific objectives were: (01) To revive
the memories of the rural residents of Paripiranga who experienced the implementation and
abandonment of the railway; (02) To learn about the stories of the Leste workers who settled in
the region and the impacts of their arrival on the rural communities;(03) To understand the
unfinished construction process of the railway line in Paripiranga; (04) To produce local history
booklets, based on collected memories, for 9th grade History teachers in Elementary School II,
in Paripiranga. The theoretical foundation is based on authors such as Ecléa Bosi (2023), Jöel
Candau (2011), Tenório (1996), Silveira (2009), Correia (2018), Paul Thompson (2002), Bueno
(2024), Schmith (2014), among others. This exploratory study, using a qualitative approach,
ideal for investigating the subjectivities and memories of those involved. Regarding procedures,
a case study was adopted, and semi-structured interviews were the main instrument for data
collection. Laurence Bardin's (2016) content analysis was used to interpret the material. The
results highlight changes in the social dynamics of the communities and feeling of frustration
from residents; the economic impact, mainly regarding the loss of property, non-payment of
compensation, and labor rights; as well as the environmental impact, which persists to the
present day. Finally, as a final product, an Open Educational Resource (OER) is presented,
composed by booklets of local history aimed at 9th-grade teachers from schools of Paripiranga
(BA), with the objective of disseminating and valuing local history.

Abstract: This study proposes an approach to History teaching centered on Local History, focusingonthe Xique-Xique neighborhood in Poço Verde (SE), aiming to value the memories andlivedexperiences of its residents. The project opposes hegemonic narratives by givingvoicetohistorically marginalized subjects and promoting new interpretations of the neighborhood, which is often stigmatized as peripheral and violent. Through interviews and analysis of oralnarratives, memories of resistance and affection are revealed, constituting a legitimatehistorical and social heritage. The research was conducted with a 9th-grade classofElementary School, composed of twenty students aged between 14 and 15, prioritizingtheaffective bond between the students and the school. The general objective of the studywastounderstand the formation of the neighborhood through local lived memories, promotingtheproduction of new historical knowledge by the students themselves. To this end, specificobjectives were established, such as investigating the neighborhood’s occupation process, thesocial marginalization it faced, identifying residents’ memories, and producing a videocasttogether with the students based on the conducted interviews. The adopted methodologywasqualitative, based on participatory action research and the use of Oral History. Studentsactively participated in all stages, from planning to conducting interviews and analyzingthenarratives. The production of the videocast aimed to democratize access tohistoricalknowledge, framing the project within the perspectives of Public History and Local History. The theoretical framework included authors such as Bittencourt (2008), Barros (2009), LeGoff (1996), Hall (2006), Candau (2023), Pollak (1992), and Jörn Rüsen (2006), as well asdialogue with academic dissertations from the ProfHistória program. This studyalsoemphasizes the importance of constructing counter-hegemonic and affectivelyengagednarratives, valuing the memories and experiences of the urban periphery. The proposal seeksto contribute to the development of students’ historical consciousness by connectingtheneighborhood's history with broader identity and social issues.

Abstract: This study, titled “The Clay Potters of Tabuleiro dos Caboclos, Itabaiana, Agreste of
Sergipe – didactic sequences of an ethnic-racial history,” aims to provide visibility to ethnicracial records in Itabaiana, Agreste of Sergipe, Northeast Brazil, by developing didactic
sequences that connect local history with ethnic-racial diversity. This evidence has been seldom
or never addressed by either established historiography or history education Centered on this
theme-problem-object, the goal of this work is to recognize the community of Afro-Indigenous
origin located near the current urban center of Itabaiana – the former Tabuleiro dos Caboclos –
formed by remnants of an officially unrecognized mocambo (settlement), currently known as
the São Cristóvão neighborhood.Until the end of the 20th century, this community maintained
the craft of clay pottery as a clear link to ancestry, tradition, and Afro-Indigenous practices,
characterized by the knowledge inherent to the craft, the customs, and the phenotype of its
inhabitants From this perspective, an examination of the community's records highlights the
agency of Black and mixed-race (pardo) women in the production, aesthetics, and trade of
domestic clay culinary artifacts – such as pots, pans, and water jugs – whose manufacturing
techniques have been passed down orally for generations. The recovery of this tradition, coupled
with the community's history, also intends to explore and stimulate knowledge regarding the
presence, participation, and contributions of a community composed of Black and mixed-race
people, referred to as “caboclos,” to rethink Brazilian history from the perspective of the São
Cristóvão neighborhood. Methodologically, the dissertation proposed a survey of the
sociocultural profile and an assessment of prior knowledge among students in the 6th-grade
classes A, B, and C at the Escola Estadual Professora Maria da Conceição (known as “Maria
Pereira”), a full-time elementary school in the São Cristóvão neighborhood. After administering
a questionnaire to the students, a significant lack of ethnic-racial references regarding their
reality and the community was identified. To fill these gaps, didactic sequences were developed
to foster knowledge of the community's contributions, visibility, and recognition within both
local history and the field of ethnic-racial studies. Based on participant observation, spatial
examination, written and visual records, and interviews with the potters and other residents, this
study focused on the town's quilombola historicity, particularly regarding Tabuleiro dos
Caboclos. Ultimately, an Open Educational Resource (OER) is presented in the form of didactic
sequences to provide students with a decolonial view of history teaching, valuing ancestral
