Abstract: This work presents the development of an electronic spreadsheet for the flexural design of timber beams with simple and built-up cross-sections connected by nails, according to the criteria established by ABNT NBR 7190:2022. The tool contemplates simple beams, built-up beams composed of two members, and built-up beams composed of three members, considering the partial interaction between the elements through semi-rigid connections. The calculation procedure includes the determination of design resistances, normal and shear stresses, internal forces acting on the connectors, and the verification of instantaneous and final deflections. The validation of the tool was carried out through the comparison between analytically obtained results and those automatically generated by the spreadsheet, showing a high agreement between the methods, which confirms the consistency and reliability of the developed model.

Abstract: The National Water Resources Policy (Law No. 9,433/1997) establishes the watershed as the fundamental unit for water resources planning and management in Brazil. In this context, the study of the physical, hydrological, and geomorphological characteristics of these units becomes essential to support efficient and sustainable management actions. Therefore, the present study aims to evaluate the morphometric indices of the Sergipe portion of the Real River Watershed through the use of geotechnologies, seeking to interpret its hydrological behavior and susceptibility to flooding and erosive processes. The indices related to basin geometry, such as form factor (0.13), compactness coefficient (2.63), circularity index (0.14), and elongation ratio (0.40), indicate an elongated shape that favors the distribution of runoff over time. This behavior is reinforced by the high concentration time (78.8 h), characterizing a slow hydrological response. On the other hand, the relief parameters reveal conditions favorable to soil erosion processes. The high altimetric amplitude (604.39 m), associated with the ruggedness index (116.65) and relief ratio (4.44), indicates rugged terrain. Drainage density (1.77 km/km²) and hydrographic density (1.107 streams/km²) demonstrate a well-developed drainage network, contributing to efficient water runoff, but also to sediment transport. Additionally, the low slope of the main channel (0.00221 m/m) may favor sediment deposition along the watercourse. Therefore, the watershed presents low susceptibility to flooding; however, it exhibits favorable conditions for the occurrence of water-induced erosive processes, especially in areas with steeper slopes.

Abstract: Phosphate fertilization is essential for the initial establishment of maize, especially in tropical soils with low natural phosphorus availability and high nutrient retention capacity. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different phosphorus sources and rates on the initial growth of maize and on the phosphorus available in the soil after cultivation, in an experiment conducted under greenhouse conditions at the Federal University of Sergipe, in the municipality of São Cristóvão, state of Sergipe, Brazil, from June to October 2025, using soil collected in Frei Paulo, Sergipe, Brazil. Three phosphate sources (MAP, Top-Phos and Solotek/P35), four P₂O₅ rates (40, 80, 100 and 120 kg ha⁻¹), and a control treatment without phosphorus were evaluated. Growth variables were obtained by image analysis, with quantification of shoot area and root area, and by chlorophyll a fluorescence (OJIP test), through the parameters Fv/Fm, PI and OJIP transient Area. At the end of the experimental period, soil available phosphorus was determined using the Mehlich-1 extractor. In general, treatments with phosphorus application showed higher values than the control, and an increase in shoot area was observed with increasing rates for all three evaluated sources. For root area, the response to increasing rates was more consistent for Top-Phos and Solotek/P35, whereas MAP showed greater variation among rates. Soil available phosphorus after cultivation varied according to source and rate, with a significant linear fit for Solotek/P35 and a significant quadratic fit for Top-Phos, while no significant fit was observed for MAP within the evaluated range. Regarding fluorescence, Fv/Fm and PI remained relatively stable among sources and rates; for the Area variable, a reduction was observed with increasing rates in MAP, without concomitant changes in the global indicators. In the correlation analysis, Solotek/P35 showed a significant positive association between residual soil phosphorus and morphological variables, whereas no consistent association was observed for MAP and Top-Phos. It is concluded that, under the evaluated conditions, increasing phosphorus rates favored the initial growth of maize, while the behavior of residual soil phosphorus depended on the source used.
