Toxicidade financeira e impactos na saúde mental de pacientes com câncer de mama

Título: Toxicidade financeira e impactos na saúde mental de pacientes com câncer de mama
Autor(es): Ramos, Jucimara Cabral de Santana
Abstract: Breast cancer (BC) is the most prevalent cancer among women and one of the most costly,
which highlights the need to investigate financial toxicity (FT), a construct that encompasses
the financial distress caused by treatment costs. The aim of this dissertation was to understand
FT in the context of BC, including its relationship with psychological, sociodemographic, and
clinical variables. To achieve this, three studies were conducted. The first was a theoretical
review of FT, which highlighted the high direct and indirect costs of cancer treatment, with
impacts such as FT, which in turn is associated with poorer treatment adherence and worse
levels of quality of life and mental health. The study highlighted vulnerabilities of the Brazilian
population to FT, such as higher indirect costs, marked social inequalities, barriers to access,
and difficulties in the implementation of policies, despite the existence of a public health
system and a set of laws aimed at reducing costs and access to treatment. The second study was
a scoping review that systematized evidence on FT in patients with BC, covering clinical,
sociodemographic, and psychological variables. Publications were concentrated in the United
States and China; the most used instrument was the Comprehensive Score for Financial
Toxicity. The most vulnerable groups were young women with low income and education and
those who were unemployed, with a greater association between FT and advanced staging,
aggressive tumor subtypes, prolonged treatments, surgeries, and complex therapies. FT was
bidirectionally associated with anxiety and depression, negatively correlated with quality of
life, and influenced by coping strategies, affecting treatment adherence. It was also related to
fear and stress, aggravated by low social support, while adequate social support and resilience
acted as protective factors. The third study, with a cross-sectional design, measured the
association between anxiety, depression, and FT, as well as sociodemographic and clinical
factors in patients treated in three public hospitals in Sergipe. FT was the variable that most
impacted psychiatric outcomes, such that the higher the FT, the greater the anxious and
12
depressive symptomatology. The findings of these studies suggest that FT is a phenomenon
that deserves attention from psychologists and health professionals, given its multiple impacts
on the mental health of patients with BC. It is expected that this dissertation will contribute to
providing support for individualized interventions aimed at preventing the psychological
impacts associated with FT and to the planning of public policies aimed at reducing inequalities
in access to and adherence to cancer treatment and promoting mental health among women
with BC.

A experiência subjetiva do racismo: Frantz Fanon e o pensamento pós-fanoniano no Brasil

Título: A experiência subjetiva do racismo: Frantz Fanon e o pensamento pós-fanoniano no Brasil
Autor(es): Bezerra Júnior, Jeadi Frazão
Abstract: This research focuses on the theme of the subjective experience of racismthroughthethoughtof Frantz Fanon and Brazilian authors such as Neusa Santos Souza, Lélia Gonzalez, andBeatriz Nascimento. In the first chapter, we explore, at a more general level, the initial andpost-colonial reception of Fanon's thought, before delving into its Brazilianreception, highlighting elements of the historical and sociocultural context, as well as pointingtodiscussions about Fanon and psychoanalysis. In the second chapter, we addresssomefundamental theoretical axes of Fanon's thought in Black Skin, White Masks. We start fromthe premise that the project inaugurated by Fanon in this work seeks to transmit a subjectiveexperience of the Black person living in a world marked by white racial supremacy, insuchaway that it becomes possible for them to become de-alienated by elaborating a discourseabout themselves, escaping the suffering, impasses, and psychic conflicts imposedbythecolonial situation. We then address the category of sociogenesis, the lived experienceofracism and its impacts on the body and subjectivity. In the final chapter, we explorethereflections of Souza, Gonzalez, and Nascimento to argue for the existence of a"post-Fanonian" thought in Brazil, represented by them, insofar as they start fromthe Fanonianproject and move forward with it, going beyond it, considering mainly the subjectivityandpsychic suffering—of the Black population in general, and of Black women in particular—within the context of Brazilian social formation, thus offering significant contributionstothefield of psychoanalysis in our country.

Abstract: This dissertation took as its central axis the relationships between psychoanalysis and
antipsychiatry, highlighting their specific approximations, disputes, tensions, and circumstantial
alliances. Starting from a controversial history in which psychoanalysis influenced and was
influenced by psychiatric practices, the research sought to make explicit how this ambivalence
opened space, at the same time, for complicities and resistances. Nowadays, this discussion
acquires urgency in times of frank psychiatric expansion, when diagnostic identities begin to
circulate as rapid explanations for the administration of conduct. The social value of suffering
and the moralization it underwent in different phases of the construction of the psy knowledges
were also highlighted. In this scenario, antipsychiatry was taken as a critical position toward
psychiatric power, the violence perpetrated in the form of treatment, and the asylum logic that
becomes established without the need for walls. Finally, possibilities for counter-hegemonic
practices were pointed out as forms of demedicalizing practices with which psychoanalysis
could ally itself.

Abstract: Nonverbal behaviors have been employed in lie detection from a diagnostic
perspective, emphasizing the assessment of deception through incongruence
between verbal content and emotional expression. This study aims to examine the
role of nonverbal behaviors as a complementary component in the lie detection
process. The first chapter presents a systematic review of studies published between
2020 and 2024 in major international databases. Following the application of
inclusion criteria, ten articles were selected for analysis. The findings indicate that
the identification of nonverbal behaviors in deceptive contexts requires careful
consideration of contextual and situation-specific factors. The second chapter reports
a statistical analysis based on data extracted from the MU3D database, which
includes discourses categorized by veracity (truth vs. lie) and emotional valence
(positive vs. negative). Facial movements, eye movements, and heart rate signals
were extracted using remote photoplethysmography through the rPPG-Toolbox
integrated with MediaPipe. The results demonstrate that nonverbal behaviors show
statistical significance primarily in relation to the emotional valence of the discourse,
but are insufficient for reliably distinguishing veracity.
