Acesso à saúde por pessoas em situação de rua: modelos comunicacionais em cenários de crise

Title: Acesso à saúde por pessoas em situação de rua: modelos comunicacionais em cenários de crise
Authors: Gois, Luciana Santos de
Abstract: The homeless population faces historical and persistent barriers in accessing health
services, which are intensified in crisis scenarios. This dissertation investigates how different
risk communication models influenced this population's access to health services during the
COVID-19 pandemic, based on a comparative analysis between the cities of Aracaju, capital
of the State of Sergipe (Brazil), and Lisbon, capital of Portugal. The research adopts a
qualitative approach, structured as a multiple case study and of a holistic nature, focusing on
government strategies to confront the health emergency, especially on innovative
communication practices in each context. The analysis reveals structural limitations,
institutional innovations and the impacts of communication actions on the effectiveness of
health responses aimed at the homeless population, contributing to the formulation of more
inclusive, equitable and sensitive public policies to the specificities of groups in extreme
social vulnerability.

Authors: Carvalho, Dayanne Santos
Abstract: This research aims to investigate in which and how many ways traces of temporalities appear in
photographs produced with pinhole, a craft technique that encompasses a broader temporal
perspective. This paper analyzed the photographs produced by children and teenagers from Mão na
Lata, a project in the Maré community, in Rio de Janeiro, which offers pinhole photography
workshops, based on the integration with literature and writing as a pedagogical path. Aiming to
discuss pinhole photography as a determining technique in the particular relationship with time, the
research analyzes photographs from the photobooks Mão na Lata e Berro Dágua: um ensaio
fotográfico sobre a obra de Jorge Amado (Altberg, 2006) and Cada dia meu pensamento é diferente
(Altberg, 2013a), identifying how the temporal traces left by this wait for pinhole and the integration
of languages contribute to strengthening the relationship between boys and girls with themselves
and with Maré. Four temporal dimensions are defined that discuss time from a perspective of
duration (Lissovsky, 2008), the fabulation of worlds with the interconnected use of pedagogical
languages (Altberg, 2006 and 2013a; hooks, 2017; Brizuela, 2014), the relationship with the city
(Amormino, Maia, Valle, 2020) and emotional connections through the image, based on the
photographic practice of João Roberto Ripper (Gastaldoni, 2020). Based on the theoreticalmethodological paths constructed through these dimensions, the research understands pinhole
photography as a path that provides Mão na Lata photographers with a particularized relationship
with time, supported by the affective paths of collective and integrated work, which means that the
duration that is perpetuated in the images is the result of the perspective constructed by life in Maré.

Narrativas digitais da maternidade no Instagram: tensões, ambivalências e performatividade do corpo materno

Title: Narrativas digitais da maternidade no Instagram: tensões, ambivalências e performatividade do corpo materno
Authors: Santos, Isadora Sukita Rezende
Abstract: This dissertation analyzes digital narratives of motherhood produced by Brazilian influencers
on Instagram, focusing on representations of the pregnant and postpartum body within a
context shaped by performativity, consumer logic, and the influence economy. The research is
based on the observation that, although social media has expanded the visibility of maternal
experiences, such exposure is permeated by tensions between authenticity and curation, care
and commodification, and between visibility and the silencing of physical and emotional
discomforts. The study examines the most highly engaged posts published between 2023 and
2025 on the profiles of five Brazilian influencers, selected according to criteria of thematic
relevance, reach, engagement, and narrative diversity. The qualitative analysis is grounded in
content analysis and engages with theoretical contributions from gender studies,
communication, body studies, health, and performativity, particularly regarding
self-presentation and expressive coherence on digital platforms. The findings show that the
maternal narratives analyzed operate through a performance of well-being that tends to
aestheticize motherhood, naturalize bodily interventions, and minimize or silence pain,
discomfort, and vulnerabilities associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period. While
the discourse of “real motherhood” is present, it is often captured by engagement and
monetization strategies, limiting its critical potential and reinforcing normative bodily and
behavioral standards. Furthermore, the promotion of health- and self-care-related products
and services frequently appears disconnected from scientific evidence, increasing the risk of
misinformation in maternal health. It is concluded that digital narratives of motherhood on
Instagram constitute an ambiguous space, combining possibilities for identification and care
with mechanisms of symbolic control, bodily discipline, and the commodification of maternal
experience. This research contributes to the field of Communication by deepening the
understanding of the relationships between motherhood, the body, health, and the influence
economy, offering critical insights for debates on ethics, visibility, and meaning-making in
digital platforms.
