| Resumo : | Este artigo investigou a criação da Escola Normal em Sergipe no século XIX e como, gradativamente, tornou-se um espaço de formação feminina. Foi através dessa Instituição que as moças sergipanas puderam ter acesso à educação e à profissionalização. De lá, saíram grandes mulheres que exerceram papéis importantes na sociedade sergipana no século XX, rompendo assim com o servilismo ao patriarcado, a qual foram submetidas por séculos. Nesse contexto foi apresentada a poetisa, contista e oradora Etelvina Amália Siqueira, formada pela Escola Normal no final do século XIX. Considerada a primeira mulher intelectual sergipana. |
| Abstract: | This article investigated the creation of the Normal School in Sergipe in the century XIX, and as it gradually became a place for feminine formation. It was through this institution that the girls could have access to education and professionalization. From there came great women who played important roles in the state of Sergipe in the century XX, thus breaking with the servility to patriarchy, which have been submitted for centuries. In this context was presented the poetess, storyteller and speak’er Etelvina Amália Siqueira, formed by the Normal School at the end of the century XIX. Considered the first intellectual woman born in the state of Sergipe. |
