Perfil de pacientes usuários de AASI atendidos no serviço de saúde auditiva no município de Lagarto

Abstract

Knowing the profile of the patients attending a health service helps in planning the actions of the service itself, besides subsidizing actions for other levels of complexity of the health system. Objective: To outline the profile of patients seen at the hearing healthcare service in the city of Lagarto, Sergipe. Method: Retrospective study based on documentary analysis of spreadsheets made available by the municipal hearing health service with data for the period 2017-2018. The variables age, sex, city of origin, degree of hearing loss, affected ear, type of unilateral or bilateral adaptation, type and model of hearing aid were analyzed. Results: It was possible to verify that the majority of patients attended were elderly men with moderate sensorineural hearing loss. All participants received retroauricular prostheses, with the majority receiving type A (66%) and bilateral prostheses (91.82%). Conclusion: the study of the profiles of the patients assisted in the public health audit service is extremely necessary to contribute to more actions and investments in this area by the public administrators are more frequent and solid. It can also assist in the orientation of care for these people, in the planning of public health policies and in the support for the elaboration of preventive and control actions, in order to reduce the incidence of the deficiencies and to implement their treatment and rehabilitation.
