Blockchain : um mapeamento sistemático das produções científicas brasileiras

Abstract

Emerging technologies have been increasingly addressed in global debates, with emphasis on those that present potential solutions to recurring problems in social, cultural and economic relations that have persisted over the years. One of these problems is the issue of the presence of central institutions in financial transactions as a central point of trust between the parties involved, which ends up leading to an increase in costs and time of operation. The main objective of this research is to understand the characteristics of Brazilian scientific productions on the blockchain theme, presenting an overview of how the blockchain emerged and the phases of technology evolution since then, in addition to definitions by several authors and diverse characteristics of the structure and functioning of the blockchain. The promising aspect of blockchain is also addressed by bringing practical examples of its application around the world, especially by large companies and multinationals, demonstrating the benefits of using blockchain and the main challenges that technology has faced in reaching its peak . Throughout this study, whose methodological procedures included quantitative and qualitative, descriptive and bibliographic research, it was possible to acquire the bases for the elaboration of a systematic mapping, carried out through data collected in the existing literature of scientific articles, indexed in the databases. Google Scholar data and Spell Repository, to meet the general purpose of the work. In this sense, it was possible to understand the situation and the direction of discussions on the theme in Brazil, which have expanded significantly by the most diverse areas of activity, with magazines and annals related to Information Systems and Computer Science being the sites of publication covered by most research.
