| Resumo : | Introdução: A disfunção temporomandibular (DTM) engloba um largo espectro de problemas clínicos articulares e musculares na área orofacial. Trata-se de um conjunto de sinais e sintomas que envolvem os músculos mastigatórios, a articulação temporomandibular e estruturas associadas. Objetivos: O objetivo desse estudo é desenvolver um protocolo fonoaudiológico de avaliação em disfunção temporomandibular (DTM). Métodos: O protocolo de avaliação fonoaudiológica em DTM foi elaborado com o que mais se era citado na literatura, e, itens julgados relevantes foram acrescentados. Resultados: O protocolo é constituído de 3 partes, sendo elas: anamnese, exame físico e hipótese diagnóstica. Conclusão: O protocolo possibilita a avaliação simples e direta de pacientes com queixa de DTM, visando apontar a origem da desordem e o seu ponto desencadeante. Entretanto, ainda é necessária uma fase experimental, em que o protocolo possa ser testado. |
| Abstract: | Introduction: The temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) includes a large spectrum of articular and muscular clinical problems. It signs and symptoms involving the masticatory muscles, the temporomandibular joint and associated structures. Purpose: to elaborate a specific protocol for temporomandibular disorders (TMD) evaluation. Methods: the evaluation protocol in TMD was elaborated with what was more mentioned in the literature, and, items judged relevant were added. Results: the protocol consists of three parts: anamnesis, physical examination and diagnostic hypothesis. Conclusion: the protocol allows a simple and direct evaluation of patients with TMD complaint, aiming to point out the source of the disorder and its trigger point. However, an experimental phase is still required, in which the protocol can be tested. |
