Como a família do deficiente auditivo é inserida na terapia fonoaudiológica? : uma revisão de escopo

Abstract

Technological developments have allowed people with hearing loss to have access to more refined environmental linguistic information; however, for a good therapeutic response, family compliance, from the diagnostic process to rehabilitation, is very important, especially when the patient is a child. With this understanding in mind, this research was designed to investigate how family participation in auditory therapy for children has occurred. Based on this, the goal was to measure the family participation in children's speech therapy, identifying, describing and discussing the methods and strategies for including the family in the therapeutic context, by means of a literature review. For the search of data in virtual banks, the keywords "perda auditiva", "surdez", "criança", “deficiência auditiva”, "família", "pais", "hearing impairment", "speech therapy", "child", "family", "parents", arriving at a total of 153 articles, of which 13 were analyzed qualitatively. The analysis of the studies pointed out that the most prevalent family insertion strategy is video feedback, but there is still a need for new studies that aim to develop strategies to engage the family to actively participate in child rehabilitation, not only during the session, but also by offering adequate stimuli during daily activities
