A loucura fala em Fronteira, de Cornélio Penna

Abstract

Ce travail analyse la folie du narrateur dans Fronteira (1935), de Cornélio Penna, en la considérant comme un mécanisme utilisé pour parler de l'exploitation de la richesse nationale par les étrangers, de l'oppression des femmes, des indigènes et des fous. La voix d'un exclu de la société est l'outil discursif utilisé pour redimensionner l'histoire officielle, elle nous offre donc une autre lecture du passé brésilien, les violences responsables qui ont cimenté la société à cette époque, et les nôtres, sont dénaturalisées. Avec le soutien d'Engel (2001) ; Sontag (2007); et Foucault (2016 ; 2017), on observe un peu du passé de la maladie mentale et de ses caractéristiques, en les reliant aux études historiques de Schwarcz et Starling (2018) et aux études littéraires de Schwarcz (2019). Blanchot (1957) et Foucault (2004) ont également servi à comprendre le problème de la forme - celui d'une conjecture quotidienne - et une partie de la fortune critique de l'auteur - Santos (2004 ; 2014 ; 2019) et Bueno (2015). De plus, un entretien avec le cinéaste, Rafael Conde, qui a réalisé le film éponyme de ce livre, en 2008, sur les romans cornéliens, est joint. Par conséquent, nous cherchons à offrir une contribution modeste à l'horizon de lecture déjà consolidé.

This work analyzes the madness of the narrator in Fronteira (1935), by Cornélio Penna, considering it as a mechanism used to talk about the exploitation of national wealth by foreigners, the oppression of women, indigenous people and lunatics. The voice of an excluded person from society is the discursive tool used to resize the official history, it offers us, therefore, another reading of the Brazilian past, the responsible violence that cemented society at that time, and ours, are denaturalized. With support from Engel (2001); Sontag (2007); and Foucault (2016; 2017), a little of the past of mental illness and its characteristics is observed, relating them to the historical studies of Schwarcz and Starling (2018) and to the literary studies of Schwarcz (2019). Blanchot (1957) and Foucault (2004) were also used to understand the problem of form - that of a daily conjecture - and part of the author's critical fortune - Santos (2004; 2014; 2019) and Bueno (2015). In addition, an interview with the filmmaker, Rafael Conde, who directed the eponymous film of this book, in 2008, about Cornelian novels, is attached. Therefore, we seek to offer a modest contribution to the already consolidated reading horizon.
