Desafios para adoção homoafetiva no Brasil

Abstract

The present research aimed to understand and point out some challenges faced by homosexual people in the process of adopting children and adolescents in Brazil. Among these, it is possible to mention the prejudice rooted within a society that, in the 21st century, still carries visible traces of conservatism. The methodology used was bibliographic research, with a view to investigating the subject in previously published materials. Bringing the theme to Social Work, this work mentions the ethical-political project of the profession, implying to highlight the constant movement of the category with regard to the feasibility and guarantee of rights, being, in the scope in question, the recognition of the LGBTQIAP+2 community. as individuals capable of assuming the roles of adopters as mothers and/or fathers, exercising this right fully, as well as providing children and adolescents with a respectful and loving home. At the end of the research, we seek to achieve as a result the need for knowledge of homosexual people about their right to adopt without any impediment or restriction, as well as demonstrating the existence of social prejudice towards those who are victims of discrimination.
