| Resumo : | Introdução: Em decorrência da pandemia, tem-se investigado a relação entre os sintomas auditivos e o acometimento por COVID-19, uma vez que os efeitos do vírus ao sistema auditivo não estão totalmente esclarecidos e que a hospitalização expõe os indivíduos infectados a agentes ototóxicos. Objetivo: O estudo buscou investigar a presença de manifestações auditivas e sua correlação com a COVID-19. Método: Foi realizado levantamento bibliográfico por meio de leitura prévia dos resumos, seleção de artigos e anotações das principais informações. Empregou-se como fonte de buscas a base de dados SciELO, LILACS e o portal BVS, entre o período de 2012 a 2022, com as seguintes palavras-chave: COVID-19, Audição e Hearing. Resultados: Os estudos apontaram que manifestações leve a moderada de COVID-19 está associada a sintomatologia auditiva e otológica pouco significativa e não permanente, enquanto os sintomas graves repercutiram em perda auditiva neurossensorial e zumbido. Considerações: O grau de manifestação da COVID-19 afetou de forma significativa nos efeitos provocados a audição, entretanto a falta de dados audiológicos prévios limitam a precisão dos resultados e sugerem a necessidade de novos estudos. |
| Abstract: | Introduction: As a result of the pandemic, the relationship between auditory symptoms and the involvement of COVID-19 has been investigated, since the effects of the virus on the auditory system are not fully understood and that hospitalization exposes infected individuals to ototoxic agents. Objective: The study sought to investigate the presence of auditory manifestations and their modification with COVID-19. Method: A bibliographical survey was carried out through a preliminary reading of the abstracts, selection of articles and notes of the main information. Use the SciELO database, LILACS and the VHL portal as a search source, between the period from 2012 to 2022, with the following keywords: COVID-19, Hearing and Hearing. Results: Studies have shown that mild to moderate manifestations of COVID-19 are associated with minor and non-permanent auditory and otological symptoms, while severe symptoms result in sensorineural hearing loss and tinnitus. Considerations: The degree of manifestation of COVID-19 significantly affected the effects caused on hearing, however the lack of previous audiological data limits the accuracy of the results and suggests the need for further studies. |
