Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the Chegança of the municipality of Divina Pastora-SE considering its paths and wanderings as a true expression of the culture of a people. Moored and disembarked on dry land, we will together look at the “Paths and wanderings da Chegança in Divina Pastora-SE”. With that, the big question arose: What is Chegança? What are your paths and wanderings in the construction of the cultural formation of the divine-pastorense people? And it was justified by the need to explain the revelry of popular culture under analysis. Thus, we sought to establish links between Chegança, with the historical context and its repercussions as an element of local culture. The methodology was qualitative-descriptive and bibliographical. The sources were analyzed with the objective of adding knowledge the work on popular culture. Through the specific objectives that contextualized the municipality under study and its expression in the field of Popular Culture, identifying Chegança as revelry. Finally, it was concluded that Chegança transmits social legitimacy to the actors and residents of the city, it also contributes to the understanding and systematization of the roots and history of the arts inserted in Sergipe popular culture and traditions.
