Projeto crianças de axé: perspectivas pedagógicas antirracistas no ensino de cultura e arte na educação de tempo integral

Abstract

The present experiential account aims to discuss the importance of valuing anti-racist education in the school environment based on the LDB - Law 11.645/08. Considering the role played by populations of African origin in the historical construction of the nation, as well as indigenous peoples who are the first inhabitants of the territory now known as Brazil. Also presented are the anti-racist pedagogical perspectives developed during part of the 2023 school year, in the diversified curricular component Culture and Regional Art, through the Children of Axé Project at the Maria Menezes Cruz Conceição Municipal School, located in the city of Ribeira do Pombal/BA, which operates with full-time education. With the objective of contextualizing how ethnic-racial relations are established in the school setting and the application of the Law, both by the educator and the school, theoretically grounded in the understanding of its principles and in artistic and cultural pedagogical actions aimed at its implementation, enabling childhood in educational institutions to be treated respectfully as a cultural, historical, political, and social construction.
