Entre vozes e votos: proposta didático-pedagógica sobre a conquista do voto feminino no Brasil aplicada ao ensino de história

Abstract

This article is the result of work in progress in the Professional Master's Degree in History Teaching at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS). It aims to present a proposal for a didactic sequence for 9th grade history teachers to work on a relational approach between women's history and the brazilian suffragist movement. We emphasize the main leaders, strategies and mobilizations that contributed to the success of women's demand for the right to vote. In this way, it is relevant to understand how the history of women and their struggles influenced the conquest of the female vote in Brazil in 1932, in a context of social and political transformations that have occurred in the country since the end of the 19th century. This work is based on the reading and analysis of texts that portray the female role, its challenges and trajectories. To do so, we search for repertoire in texts by historians and research in virtual collections that keep records of the period. Given the importance of the theme, it is indispensable to address it in the Teaching of History in order to promote reflections on the process of conquering rights and the participation of women in today's society.
