Identidade e memória: uma análise histórica da Renovação Carismática Católica em Pariconha-Al (1997-2019)

Abstract

The object of the master's research is to make a historiographical rescue of the Catholic Pentecostal movement in Pariconha-AL, discussing the memory and identity of the RCC from a socio-historical perspective with a time frame that goes from 1997 to 2019. Based on the objectives discussed about history; Pentecostalism; trends and disruptions; and Charismatic Movement, the work is developed, in addition to an oral source with testimonies from members who were important in the journey of the religious movement. The religious theme is discussed from macro to micro, based on authors such as Carranza (2009), Massarão (2002), Sofiati (2009), Freston (1993), researchers who dominate the discussion on Pentecostalism; thinkers such as Bourdieu (2007) Hervieu-Léger (2008) and Candau (2023) are also essential to understand the religious phenomenon in a theoretical way. Among the main conclusions to be analyzed, charismatic identity and its cultural affirmation in the parish of Pariconha-AL is one of them.
