Mulher e cuidado : caminho para adoção

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the role of women in the adoption process in Brazil, highlighting the intersections between motherhood and care. Thus, we evaluated as specific objectives, identifying the challenges faced by women in the adoption process, highlighting the legal and bureaucratic mechanisms faced by adopters, analyzing the profile of adopted children, emphasizing the challenges in the adoption process, emphasizing the counterpoints of gender education in the family environment and also understanding the reasons that imply care for women. The methodology we followed in the research was the dialectical historical realism of the philosopher and economist Karl Marx, which allows us to critically analyze the social, economic and power relations socially constructed. To support the analysis, we came across some legislative norms such as the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), the Federal Constitution, and the National System of Adoption and Foster Care (SNA), which is managed by the National Council of Justice (CNJ). Then, to support the debate on care, theoretical currents were applied, such as the Ethics of Care, discussed by philosophers Carol Giligan and Nel Nodding, which shows us the attribution of care as a compulsory ethical and moral duty to women. We also provide reflection on the three-pronged theory of consubstantiality (Race; Class and Gender) developed by French feminist Danièle Kergoat. The type of research we used to conduct the study was bibliographic research, of a descriptive/explanatory nature, thus making a qualitative analysis of the academic productions, arranged in the articles published in the Annals of the Brazilian Congress of Social Workers - CBAS, corresponding to the years 2016-2019, with the aim of understanding what the scenario is in relation to the developments regarding adoption and care.
