Abstract

This article seeks to understand aspects of the life story of Emmanuel Franco (1919-2008), especially showing his educational background and his actions and accom-plishments as a researcher, an agronomist, professor and writer. The research assumes that the study of a particular trajectory of life is an important source for understanding and writing history of a given society. In this sense, to research the life of an agronomist of Sergipe, while it highlights his contribu-tions in various fields, also sheds light on topics such as agronomic and biogeographic research, agronomic education and agri-cultural training of the professional field of agronomists and on educational institutions where passed as a student or teacher.
