Sobrecarga de volume relacionada à infusão de fluidos em pacientes internados na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI)

Abstract

Fluid infusion therapy is performed with two types of solutions: crystalloids and colloids. This management is commonly done in patients undergoing critical care and at the same time comes volume overload, with each fluid chosen to be infused based on its specificity to be analyzed. This study aimed to understand the relationship between fluid infusion therapy and volume overload in patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This is an integrative literature review, with a qualitative approach and bibliographic search in the Pubmed and VHL databases. No agreement was found between the best fluid to be used for volume expansion, in addition to the fact that both presented possible adverse effects in critically ill patients, especially when liberal therapy was used, making onitoring during administration and subsequent conservative therapy essential.
