Teceduras de história, identidade e pertencimento : renda irlandesa e patrimônio cultural sergipano

Abstract

This article provides a historical overview of the process of patrimonialization of Irish Lace in Sergipe, both at the level of the State Legislative Assembly and at the level of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Sergipe. It also aims to demonstrate the importance of this cultural asset, both for the women who work with this type of weaving technique and as a reference to Sergipe's identity. To this end, we would like to highlight the role of anthropologist Beatriz Góis Dantas, who gives visibility to the asset and its characters and collaborates in its recognition as intangible cultural heritage of Sergipe and Brazil.
