Instrumentação reciprocante em endodontia: revisão de literatura

Abstract

The endodontic therapy aims cleaning and shaping the root canal minimizing the amount of bacteria present and their by-products and allows for an efficient sealing system and thus eradicates the infection preventing or curing the apical periodontitis. But the major challenge is the change in anatomy which is almost always present, hindering the establishment of an appropriate preparation of the root canal. In the evolution of techniques and instrumentation protocols, many systems have been developed in order to overcome these challenges anatomical giving way to different sequences of instrumentation, different alloys and different cinematic. In 2008, a new technique using only one file was introduced by Yared, aiming to reduce the cyclic fatigue of the instruments and quicker and equally effective instrumentation. Considering the differences between the instrumentation systems root canal, the goal of this paper is to review the literature on the reciprocating systems single file, evaluating its effectiveness in cleaning, disinfection and shaping of the root canal system. Although studies show safety and efficiency in the use of reciprocating system single file for instrumentation of the root canal system, new studies are needed to improve the use of these systems.
