Abstract: This study analyzes the representation of information censorship and historical erasure in the narrative of the anime One Piece, based on the Ohara Incident, seeking to understand how the destruction of the island highlights the relationships among information, memory, social control, genocide, and epistemicide. The research is guided by the following question: how can the destruction of Ohara in One Piece be understood as a representation of historical erasure driven by the information censorship of a people's knowledge? The general objective is to analyze how the destruction of Ohara represents practices of information censorship and historical erasure within the narrative. Specifically, the study discusses the relationships among information, memory, information censorship, and social control; identifies the narrative elements that characterize the historical erasure of the people of Ohara; and examines the character Nico Robin as a symbol of resistance and the preservation of knowledge. This is a basic, exploratory, qualitative study based on bibliographic and documentary research. The investigation is based on the documentary analysis of episodes 275, 276, 277, and 278 of the anime One Piece, as well as on a bibliographic survey conducted in the Information Science Database (Brapci) and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The findings demonstrate that the narrative presents information as a central element in power disputes, showing that information censorship operates as a mechanism of social control by restricting access to knowledge, promoting the destruction of documents, persecuting knowledge producers, and imposing an official historical narrative. It is concluded that the destruction of Ohara simultaneously represents processes of genocide, epistemicide, and historical erasure by eliminating people, memories, and knowledge, highlighting the potential of One Piece as an audiovisual document for reflecting on information, memory, and the preservation of knowledge within the field of Library and Information Science.
