Abstract: We analysed the endoparasite fauna associated with two species of whiptail lizard (Cnemidophorus abaetensis and C. ocellifer) from north-eastern Brazil. Overall parasite prevalence was relatively low for both species (18.2% in C. abaetensis and 12.5% in C.ocellifer). Four parasite species were recorded: the pentastomid Raillietiella aff. furcocerca and the nematodes Physaloptera lutzi, P. retusa and Hexametra boddaertii. We compared our results with those of previous similar studies on other whiptails.
