| Resumo : | OBJETIVO: Evidenciar as dificuldades diagnósticas da tuberculose mamária (TM) através de uma série de casos. MÉTODO: Estudo transversal, retrospectivo e descritivo, baseado em de seis casos diagnosticados como tuberculose mamária. RESULTADO: Todos os pacientes foram do gênero feminino, com média etária de 33,5 anos, sendo quatro delas em idade fértil e nenhuma em período puerperal. Todas apresentaram nodulação na mama, houve fistulização da lesão em cinco pacientes, um caso de abscesso e adenomegalia em cadeia axilar em apenas um indivíduo. Todos os diagnósticos foram realizados através de clínica sugestiva e 44 de análise histológica compatível, com pesquisa direta e cultura negativas. As pacientes apresentaram boa resposta à terapia tuberculotástica convencional. Apenas um caso de recidiva em mama contralateral. CONCLUSÃO: Esta série de casos corroborou com os dados presentes na literatura, evidenciando a dificuldade no diagnóstico da TM, a boa resposta ao tratamento conservador e a baixa incidêcia de recidivas |
| Abstract: | OBJECTIVE: To put in evidence the difficulties in diagnosing breast tuberculosis (BT) through a series of cases. METHODS: Transversal, descriptive and retrospective studies, based on six cases diagnosed as breast tuberculosis. RESULTS: All patients were female, with a medium age of 33,5 years, four of them being on fertile age and none of them being on puerperal period. All of them presented nodulation in the breast, five of them showed fistulous process in the lesion and only one of them 45 presented abscess and lymph node enlargement in axillary chain. All diagnoses were executed by suggestive clinics and compatible histological analysis, with direct research and negative cultures. The patients responded well to conventional tuberculostatic therapy. Only one case of recurrence in the contralateral breast. CONCLUSION: This series of cases supported the data found in the literature, putting in evidence the difficulties in diagnosing breast tuberculosis, the nice response to conventional treatment and low incidence of cases of recurrence |
