| Resumo : | Este trabalho teve por objetivo identificar a percepção de residentes em instituição de longa permanência para idosos sobre o envelhecimento. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, com 25 idosos residentes de uma ILPI no município de Itabaiana/SE. A coleta foi realizada no período de outubro/2017 a janeiro/2018 utilizando-se um roteiro de entrevista estruturado e o questionário sobre percepções de envelhecimento (APQ). Os idosos entrevistados do sexo masculino representaram 48% (n=12) e do feminino 52% (n=13). A média de idade foi de 76,56 (± 8,60) anos, sendo a faixa etária predominante a de 70-79, representando 44% (n=11). Quando analisada a dimensão das consequências positivas do envelhecimento, a média geral foi 3,70 pontos e nas consequências negativas, a média geral foi 3,96 pontos. Com base nos resultados apresentados, pode-se concluir que a auto percepção do envelhecimento pelos idosos residentes na ILPI foi positiva. Acredita-se que os resultados encontrados nesta pesquisa poderão proporcionar a reflexão sobre o envelhecimento através da percepção dos idosos o que poderá contribuir para discussão e compreensão de informações relativas à população idosa. |
| Abstract: | This study aimed to identify the perception of residents in a long - stay institution for the elderly on aging. This is a quantitative study, with 25 elderly residents of a LTIPI in the municipality of Itabaiana / SE. The collection was carried out from October / 2017 to January / 2018 using a structured interview script and the questionnaire on aging perceptions (APQ). The elderly male respondents accounted for 48% (n = 12) and the female 52% (n = 13). The mean age was 76.56 (± 8.60) years, the predominant age group being 70-79, representing 44% (n = 11). When analyzed the dimension of the positive consequences of aging the general average was 3.70 points and in the negative consequences, the overall mean was 3.96 points. Based on the results presented, it can be concluded that the self perception of aging by elderly people living in ILPI was positive. It is believed that the results found in this research may provide reflection on aging through the perception of the elderly, which may contribute to the discussion and understanding of information regarding the elderly population. |
