Caracterização fitofisionômica das restingas da Reserva Biológica de Santa Isabel, litoral norte de Sergipe

Abstract

This work aims to characterize the phytophysiognomies occurring in the Santa Isabel Biological Reserve, located in the north coast of Sergipe. The phytophysiognomies found in this Biological Reserve are similar to the ones found at others areas of “restinga” of Northeast region of Brazil. Seven different phytophysiognomic types were found, determined mainly by nature of the substrate and distance to the sea, divided in two distinct formations: “praial-campestre” formations (“campo aberto não inundável” [CANI], “campo aberto inundável” [CAI], “campo fechado inundável” [CFI], and “campo fechado não inundável” [CFNI]) and “restinga” formations (“fruticeto aberto não inundável” [FANI], “fruticeto fechado não inundável” [FFNI], and “floresta não inundável” [FNI]).
