Representações sociais, identidade de gênero e diversidade sexual na formação docente

Abstract

This paper presents research results that aimed to analyze the meaning of the theme social representations of gender roles and sexual diversity to the teacher as a public association. The research was conducted, in São Cristóvão, State of Sergipe. In conducting the research, we reference the assumptions of qualitative research in type Case Study Education, privileging the meanings attributed to the subject by the teacher as in the interviews. We present reflections on social representations of gender roles and diversity and the meanings attributed to the subject by the teachers surveyed. Also, we highlight the need for investment in initial and continuing training of teachers to deconstruct stereotypes. For that a view of a more just and egalitarian society be building. Rethinking teacher education is one of the conditions for the promotion of a school to contribute to the elimination of prejudice and discrimination.
