Abstract

Politics is a subject that has been present since the beginning and is part of the construction of humanity. But it is possible to observe that for many years, it was men who played the role of protagonists and, due to a social construction, few women were occupying a prominent position. Aligned with this perspective, there is the Culture of Peace, which seeks to maintain equality, respecting the differences between individuals. This work seeks to talk about this, presenting three women who are part of the construction of Sergipe's history and who gained visibility for the authenticity and excellence of their work. Lígia Pina, Jane Nascimento and Marlene Calumby are fundamental elements in understanding women and the different roles they can and have the capacity to play within a historical and social context.
