| Resumo: | Este trabalho pretende identificar e analisar os elementos textuais que nos remetem aos sentidos da colonização no conto “My father, the Englishman and I”, de Naruddin Farah. Para tanto, faremos uso de alguns pressupostos teóricos dos estudos culturais e da teoria pós-colonial (Hall, 2005; 2006; Bhabha, 1998; 2006), bem como da historiografia literária, política e cultural da Somália e seus diálogos, rejeições e relações com o cânone da literatura de língua inglesa. |
| Abstract: | This work aims to identify and analyze the textual elements that take us to the meanings of colonization in the short story “My father, the Engishman and I”, by Naruddin Farah. To this end, we will make use of some theoretical assumptions from cultural studies and post-colonial theory (Hall, 2005; 2006; Bhabha, 1998; 2006), as well as the literary, political and cultural historiography of Somalia and its dialogues, rejections and relationships with the canon of English-language literature. |
