Abstract

This article examines the evolution of Sergipe's electricity matrix, highlighting its historical transition from a predominantly hydroelectric matrix to a more diversified and sustainable one, with the growth of wind and solar sources. Analyzing data on electricity generation and future developments, the study addresses both the challenges and opportunities for renewable energy development in the state, emphasizing the need for infrastructure investments. The research concludes that Sergipe plays a strategic role in Brazil's energy transition, with optimistic projections for the increase in renewable generation capacity in the coming decades.
