Contribuições da teoria bioecológica para o raciocínio profissional em terapia ocupacional: uma revisão integrativa da literatura

Abstract

Introduction: The bioecological theory of Bronfenbrenner (TBB) has been widely used by Occupational Therapy (OT) as a basis for the development of approaches, interventions and evaluations. This application reflects the holistic thinking characteristic of OT professional reasoning, which considers both the micro and macro factors of relationships, always comprising the individual in his environment. Objective: To explore the contributions of bioecological theory to professional reasoning in Occupational Therapy.Method: This is an integrative literature review, with the objective of raising national and international publications that explore the relationship between bioecological theory and OT practice. Results: After the search, four studies were selected. Discussion: It was observed that these studies had diversifications in the area of occupational therapy, being found studies related to physical rehabilitation, school context and mental health, all with the child population. It was identified that the theory has helped in the implementation of approaches, such as Family-Centered Practice, in addition to contributing to the development of broader and more detailed assessments in the clinical practice of OT. Conclusion: TBB offers an approach to the ethos of OT, promoting an expanded understanding of complex problems and addressing different areas and fields of intervention of the profession.
