| Resumo : | Introdução: a Fissura Orofacial (FO) é uma malformação congênita decorrente da falta de fusão entre os processos faciais embrionários e os processos palatinos, que acontece entre a quarta e a décima segunda semana de vida intrauterina. Ela representa não somente um problema estético, mas funcional e psicossocial. O objetivo desse estudo epidemiológico foi verificar a prevalência da FO no estado de Sergipe, entre 2010 a 2023, e comparar a qualidade das notificações com os dados divulgados anteriormente. Método: levantamento retrospectivo da população de indivíduos nascidos vivos com FO no Estado de Sergipe, registrados no DATASUS no período de 2010 a 2023. Resultados: dos 463 casos registrados, observou-se que: 44,7% das anomalias eram do tipo “Fenda Palatina Não Especificada”; 79,9% eram pardos; e 97,6% dos registros eram de gravidez única. Quanto ao sexo, apenas os anos de 2011 a 2013 foram disponibilizados, sendo que, dos 85 casos, 56,5% eram do sexo feminino. Conclusão: a taxa de prevalência foi de 1 indivíduo com FO para cada 994 nascidos vivos em Sergipe entre 2010 e 2023, e, quando comparada a qualidade dessas notificações com os dados divulgados anteriormente, de 2003 a 2014, foi possível observar uma demora na atualização das informações no sistema. |
| Abstract: | Introduction: Orofacial cleft (OC) is a congenital malformation resulting from the lack of fusion between the embryonic facial processes and the palatine processes, which occurs between the fourth and twelfth week of intrauterine life. It represents not only an aesthetic problem, but also a functional and psychosocial one. The objective of this epidemiological study was to verify the prevalence of OC in the state of Sergipe, between 2010 and 2023, and to compare the quality of the notifications with previously published data. Method: retrospective survey of the population of live births with OC in the state of Sergipe, registered in DATASUS from 2010 to 2023. Results: of the 463 registered cases, it was observed that: 44.7% of the anomalies were of the “Unspecified Cleft Palate” type; 79.9% were brown; and 97.6% of the records were of singleton pregnancies. Regarding sex, only the years 2011 to 2013 were available, and of the 85 cases, 56,5% were female. Conclusion: the prevalence rate was 1 individual with OC for every 994 live births in Sergipe between 2010 and 2023, and when comparing the quality of these notifications with the data previously released, from 2003 to 2014, it was possible to observe a delay in updating the information in the system. |
