Habilitadas a Maternar : uma visão sobre as adoções via CNA por mulheres inférteis/estéreis em Aracaju-SE

Abstract

In this study, the objective was to discuss the relationship between motherhood and maternity of fertile/infertile women who sought to become mothers through the National Adoption Registry (CNA), during the year 2015 in the city of Aracaju/SE. The motivation for the study came from different aspects, but mainly from the student´s contact with the aforementioned women (postulants to adoption) through a non-compulsory curricular internship held at the Child and Youth Court Habilitation Nucleus. The research was characterized by the exploratory-descriptive character and by the qualitative-quantitative approach. The results were obtained through a bibliographical and documentary survey, as well as through field research, where interviews were conducted, guided by a semi-structured script, with the aforementioned women. The selection, codification, tabulation, and interpretation of the collected data would have occurred on the basis of dialectical historical materialism. It was concluded that, despite advances in modernity, there is still a socio-cultural pressure that imposes on women the role of mother, associated with the imprecision of women regarding the appropriation of the social significance of motherhood and maternity.
