Letramento, analfabetismo funcional e o sistema Scliar de alfabetização

Abstract

The process of literacy and initial reading instruction of children running through several discussions throughout the history of brazilian education. According to some researchers, this process should be linked to each other. The school as a space for coexistence need to develop reading and writing practices encouraging the use of reading and writing beyond school walls. One of the recent methods on this subject is the Scliar’s literacy system which it is based in the area of neuroscience and propose (re) thinking the way how teachers literacy teach and motivate students for such skills in the early grades. The objective of this work is to present a brief overview of illiteracy in Brazil, about how it is in relation to initial reading instruction and the literacy, as well as talk about the vision of some authors about the importance of reading and writing as a way to reduce functional illiteracy in the country.
