Éramos Palace: o documentário como registro do patrimônio

Abstract

This work aims to demonstrate the significance of the documentary as a heritage register element. It is understood that this tool can constitute as a resource of considerable repercussion and mobilization before the society, also making possible the registration of the architectural object and the oral registry of the narratives realized by the people. For this purpose, a documentary will be made using a study object, represented here by the Palace Hotel - a building inaugurated in 1962, one of the projects that consolidated the production of modern architecture in Aracaju, being a reference in the State during his golden age. Currently, the building is in a state of abandonment and neglect before the public law and the regulatory organs of the patrimony, evidencing the lack of interest of the same in the preservation of this building. In this way, it is intended to emphasize the importance of the object of study in question, which has a great historical and cultural value for the city, promoting heritage education and thus enabling the population to look at the building in a different way, understanding its importance and the need to recognize it, thus seeking to contribute to the theme of preservation and documentation of a cultural heritage.
