Na corda bamba : uma análise da representação do Transtorno Afetivo Bipolar na série Spin Out

Abstract

This study proposes an analysis of the representation of Bipolar Affective Disorder in the Canadian series Spinnig Out from Diana Rose's method of analysis of the moving image. Based on the comparison between the analysis obtained by the method and the interview conducted with mental health professionals, the aim is to understand whether the representations brought by the series are feasible with the reality of the disorder, in general, or if they contribute to the foundation of potentially harmful stereotypes. The indepth look at these issues verified that, although the series brings good, well-structured and grounded representations, some mistakes ended up bringing to light a spectacularized representation with potential risk for the dissemination of knowledge about bipolar affective disorder.
