Nossa Senhora Aparecida : um estudo sociocultural da história da Romaria sergipana

Abstract

The present course completion work addresses the history of the Pilgrimage of Nossa Senhora Aparecida in the municipality of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, Sergipe, focusing on its sociocultural importance. The research objectives included: characterizing the municipality, analyzing the history of the Pilgrimage, and investigating its influence on local identity. The justification for the research lies in the significance of the Pilgrimage as an event that unites faith, tradition, and culture, shaping the identity of the local community from the recent past (2006) to the present, generating income and local visibility. The qualitative methodology used was based on bibliographic and documentary research of historical data, directed towards content analysis. The text presents an analysis of the history of the municipality, the Pilgrimage, and the influence of religious culture on the life of the community. The research demonstrates how the Pilgrimage has become a fundamental event for local identity, uniting faith, tradition, and culture. The research engaged in dialogue with the works of Barreto (2002), Fabrino (2012), Santos (1987), Santana, Alves, and Leidivaldo (2015), Oliveira and Pacheco Júnior (2021), Nora (1984), among others.
