Perspectivas da educação ambiental na formação docente e os desafios para a (re)construção de uma sociedade sustentável

Abstract

Discussions about the need for the transformation of societies that have as their foundation the forces of capital in sustainable societies, which degrade the environment less. To this end, the critical tendency of Environmental Education that seeks toface the socio-environmental problem arising from the modus vivendi and operandi of consumer societies is used. Thus, the objective of this writing is to reflect on the perspectives of Environmental Educationin the curricula of teacher education, delintizing as locus of research the Federal University of Sergipe and the Federal Institute of Sergipe, public institutions sergipanas to offer undergraduate courses. The research, with a qualitative approach and case study type, had as methodological procedures the curricular documentary analysis performed in the light of the Content Analysis technique. Thus, categories were delineated that make it possible to understand what perspective of Environmental Education has been addressed in the Sergipe scenario. The data revealed that there are possibilities for the critical discussion of Environmental Education, but this is still incipient, reverberating what the data of the national scenario point out.
