Mestre Zezinho do Cacumbi de Laranjeiras/SE: reavivando a história

Abstract

This work is based on research that seeks to revive the history and memory of Master Zezinho of Cacumbi from Laranjeiras/SE. The objective of the work was to investigate the reasons for the absence of Master Zezinho's figure and what led to his being forgotten in the culture of the city and the state. Currently, only the Cacumbi of Master Deca is mentioned in academic and journalistic research, as well as in political-cultural actions. In this sense, in order to find answers to the questions, searches were carried out in Google Scholar, in the Central Library of UFS, in the Epiphanio Dória Public Library, in addition to field research in the city of Laranjeiras through interviews with people who knew Master Zezinho, becoming the essential material for the documentation and analysis of the work. The research is extremely relevant to the culture of Sergipe and especially to the people of Laranjeiras, who will learn about the history of a master who contributed so much to the popular culture of our city.
