Fome como expressão da questão social : manifestações da (in)segurança alimentar e nutricional no Brasil durante a pandemia de COVID-19

Abstract

This study aims to understand hunger as an expression of the social question, based on manifestations of food and nutritional (in)security in Brazil during the Covid19 pandemic, between 2020 and 2022. Of a qualitative nature, the research is grounded in the historical-dialectical materialism method and is carried out through bibliographic and documentary research. It is evident that hunger constitutes a historical problem, intensified by the capitalist and neoliberal model, especially in the context of agroexportation. It was found that social programs, such as Bolsa Família and Emergency Aid, proved insufficient to reduce food and nutritional insecurity during the health crisis. This study also highlights that overcoming hunger requires the effective role of the State, the consolidation of Food and Nutritional Security instruments, and the implementation of structural policies that guarantee the human right to adequate food.
